SULTAN AND THE CAMEL
Once upon a time there lived a sultan, who loved his camel. When the sultan would take a great liking to his camel, he would even name her as decent. Pages would take care of the camel on the same way they cared for the sultan. Sultan's love for the camel was so strong that he would from time to time say:
»I will kill the person, who will say that you are dead!«
But all in all the camel had a soul and she had to die…one day. So she died. Pages were frighten do death: »What are we going to say to the sultan now? If we say that the camel is dead, he will behead us, if we say that the camel is alive, we will lie and God knows what will happen to us!«
They thought very carefully. Suddenly one of them said: »Don't worry, I will do the job!«
He immediately went to the sultan and said: »O great sultan, your dear camel lied and doesn't want to get up, she closed her eyes and doesn't want to open them, she doesn't want to move her legs.«
The sultan's lips were shivering: »Say that she died!«
The page answered with a heavy heart: »My sultan! You said that, if I say it I will lose my head!«
The beautiful speech of this man was enough to smile the sultan…
